CANTRILS GLORY BAND
Cantrils Glory Band are probably one of the few Orange Band in Liverpool that consists of members drawn only from members within our own distrct , No members from any other Lodges outside No.12 District are members of this band. There are several founder members still in the band to this day, below are some of the pictures of the bands travels during 2003/4.
Our Band outside Portadown Orange Hall 2003
William McLean (centre) invited the band over to Portadown for the annual Reformation Parade to Drumcree church in October 2003.
Brother McLean was a founder member of the Cantrils Glory L.O.L. 306 Lodge back in August 1969. Bro McLean, now a member of an Orange Lodge in Portadown has been attempting for a number of years to get our band over to Portadown, and finally his wish came true in October 2003.
The band has travelled over every year since 2003 to lead Portadown Apprentice Boys Club to their Derry Day celebrations in Londonderry.
The band also travelled over for the "12th" parade in 2009 where they took out Wesleyan Temperance LOL161 at the County Armagh Demonstration. The band received a wonderful welcome being the only Liverpool band on the parade and look forward to the next time the opportunity comes around to walk again on an Ulster 12th.
