East Belfast 1st July 2004

The Lodge travelled over to Ulster on the 1st July this year for the annual Somme memorial parade, Although there were only 10 of us over the visit went really well and we even had the pleasure of being invited into Belfast City Hall to share in food and drinks with the Dignitaries of Belfast.

One special moment stood out when the Brigadier General of the Royal Irish Rifles came over to introduce himself , he even tried to poach one of our members to join his Regiment.

The weather was awful at times but that didn't stop the 34 Bands and Lodges enjoying the parade, Our Lodge had the pleasure of walking with Ballymacarret District L.O.L. behind the Sons of Down F.B. from Donaghadee who played exellently throughout the Parade. After the Parade the Lodge were invited to the Ballymacarret Orange Hall for refreshments.
