from East Belfast to Stormont to City Hall!

On the 1st July 2004 members of our Lodge travelled over to Belfast for two days to take part in the Annual Battle of the Somme memorial Parade. We left Liverpool on the first flight on the Thursday morning and arrived in Belfast International Airport at around 9:30 am. By the time we arrived at Belfast city centre we only had enough time to put our bags into our Hotel and then move on to City Hall for the Belfast Memorial Service.

We were lucky enough to get access to City Hall and be invited into the Lord Mayors Reception, where we were amongst the Politicians and different dignitaries of Belfast, We then left to get changed and take part in the Belfast County Grand Lodge Parade in East Belfast. We were fortunate to be walking with members of the L.O.L. 747 of Belfast number 6 District, behind the Sons of Down Flute Band from Donaghadee, The band played really well and was not detered by the scenes from the Short Strand estate.
